Cubes
Our granite cubes are mainly sourced from Europe and kept at various stock yards around the UK.
Portuguese granite cubes are cropped/split and therefore manufactured to wider tolerances than sawn materials; usually +/- 10mm on each side.
It is by utilising this variation in size and shapes that different patterns and bonds can be created by the layer when installing them. This clever use of this natural material often results in a traditional rustic appearance.
Setts
Whilst setts can also be cropped/split on all sides they are often produced with a sawn top and bottom face. This type of production has the advantage of providing a practical pedestrian friendly surface finish, an accurate depth tolerance and retains its rustic appearance due to its cropped/split sides.
The top surface finish can vary from a slip resistant flame texture to a rough texture for heavily trafficked areas.
